The Main Street America Group Selects WAUSAU Retail Lockbox Solution to Drive ARC and Efficiency Improvements Premier Property-Casualty Carrier Speeds Customer Premium with Industry-Leading Remittance Application

Mosinee, WI - 09/27/2007 WAUSAU, the industry leader in distributed payments and remittance processing solutions, announced today The Main Street America Group, a super regional property-casualty insurance carrier, has selected WAUSAU as its end-to-end remittance solutions provider and is utilizing WAUSAU's industry-leading ImageRPS application for retail lockbox operations.

With the WAUSAU retail lockbox solution, Main Street America has eliminated inefficient and out-of-date software and hardware in order to better fulfill more than $850 million in direct annual insurance premiums for over 500,000 policy holders in 16 states.

Main Street America has been able to take advantage of Accounts Receivable Conversion (ARC), resulting in lower transaction fees per item processed and reduced float time. In addition to implementing ARC, Main Street America has significantly improved its customer service response time due to ImageRPS imaging capabilities. Previously, Main Street America did not have imaging capabilities and had to go directly to its financial institution to get copies of checks, which sometimes took several days, or even weeks. Utilizing features of the ImageRPS application, they are now able to retain front and back images from customer checks, eliminating the need to rely on the financial institution for customer research information. The time savings allows them to better allocate resources throughout the organization.

"When selecting the ImageRPS application from WAUSAU, we were looking for a scalable remittance processing application that allows for an increase in payment volume that our previous system could not provide," said Phil Shepard, Operations Manager for Main Street America's Premium Services unit. "We selected the WAUSAU application because of WAUSAU's experience in the payment processing industry in addition to their experience and expertise around ARC. During our selection process, we realized that the ImageRPS solution would provide us with the desired features and functionality required to increase our processing efficiencies, improve customer research through document retention and more efficiently position our organization for future growth in the insurance industry."

"We are very excited about our new relationship with Main Street America in providing a flexible and scalable remittance processing solution that offers advanced features such as imaging and archiving capabilities for Retail Lockbox," said Kathy Strasser, Senior Vice President, Remittance and Enterprise Content Management Solutions for WAUSAU.

"ImageRPS has allowed Main Street America to streamline its remittance processing, embrace ARC and dramatically improve customer service, reinforcing Main Street America’s commitment to continuously enhance its customers' experience."

Currently, WAUSAU's ImageRPS application is live at over 30 insurance carriers throughout the United States, processing more than 650,000 annual transactions.

WAUSAU's ImageRPS solution offers advanced transaction technology that is flexible and scalable for the customer, whether an organization receives recurring business or personal checks, partial- or full-remittance payments, or single check or full-page transactions. WAUSAU customers continue to dominate the industry in Accounts Receivable Conversion (ARC) generation and annually generate more than 35% of all ARC transactions on the ImageRPS application.
